SC HR 600 is a high-performance heat-resistant coating designed for applications up to 600°C. It offers superior protection against heat, corrosion, and thermal cycling. The coating is widely used in heavy industries such as power, steel, and manufacturing. It ensures long-term durability and operational efficiency. All products are Green Products and are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, ensuring quality, reliability, and environmentally responsible production

SC HR 600 SB is a single-component, solvent-based coating designed specifically for industrial surfaces exposed to extreme thermal cycles. It is formulated to maintain integrity, adhesion, and finish under continuous high-temperature operations, making it ideal for metal surfaces, exhaust systems, pipelines, chimneys, and furnace components.

This advanced coating resists thermal shockoxidation, and chemical degradation, providing long-lasting protection and extending the service life of industrial equipment. It can be applied easily without preheating and cures effectively at room temperature, ensuring cost efficiency and operational convenience.

Key Features and Benefits

  • High Heat Resistance:
Withstands temperatures up to 600°C, offering excellent performance under continuous thermal exposure.

  • Organic–Inorganic Hybrid Technology:
Combines flexibility with high-temperature stability for superior adhesion and resistance to thermal expansion.

  • Corrosion & Chemical Resistance:
Provides robust protection against oxidation, chemical fumes, and industrial gases.

  • Low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion:
Reduces cracking and delamination during temperature fluctuations.

  • Easy Application:
Ready-to-use liquid form suitable for spray, brush, or roller application without preheating.

  • Quick Curing:
Touch-dry within 30 minutes; full cure achievable at room temperature or through controlled heating.

  • Single-Component System:
Simplifies handling and eliminates the need for complex mixing or catalysts.

Typical Applications

SC HR 600 SB is versatile and suitable for a wide range of industrial applications, including:

  • Exhaust Silencers and Mufflers
  • Furnace and Oven Exteriors
  • Chimney Stacks and Flues
  • Heater Baffles and Burners
  • Fire Hole Doors
  • Engine Cylinder Heads
  • Pipelines Carrying Hot Liquids or Gases
  • Any metallic surface exposed to 400–600°C continuous temperature

This makes it an ideal protective coating for industries such as steel manufacturing, petrochemical processing, power generation, automotive, and heavy engineering.

Application Procedure

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure the substrate is completely clean and rust-free.
  • Remove oil, grease, and contaminants using a degreasing solvent.
  • For best adhesion, abrasive blast clean the surface to a minimum of Sa 2½ (Swedish Standard) or manually clean to St 2.
  • Dust down thoroughly and ensure the surface is dry before application.

Mixing and Application

  1. Mix well before use to ensure uniform consistency.

  2. Paint can be applied by spray, brush, or roller, though spray is preferred for a smooth finish.

  3. For HR pigments, disperse directly in the SC HR 600 SB binder.

  4. For other pigments, grind in solvent first before adding binder.

  5. Apply 1–2 uniform coats as per desired film thickness.

  6. Allow 30 minutes for touch dry and 3–4 days for full cure at room temperature.

  7. Alternatively, accelerate curing by 4 hours at room temperature followed by 1 hour at 200°C.

Storage and Handling

  • Store at ambient temperature in a dry, well-ventilated area.
  • Keep away from moisture, as exposure may cause gel formation.
  • Always seal containers tightly after use.
  • Store formulated paints in air-tight metal containers to avoid premature curing.
  • Shelf Life: 12 months from the date of manufacturing in sealed condition.

Safety Precautions

  • Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin or eyes.
  • Ensure proper ventilation during application.
  • Use gloves, safety goggles, and masks while handling.
  • Keep away from flames, sparks, and sources of heat.
  • Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for detailed safety information.
