SC HR 400 is a heat-resistant coating designed for surfaces exposed to temperatures up to 400°C. It provides excellent thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and durability. The coating is commonly used in industrial equipment, exhaust systems, and machinery. It enhances performance and extends equipment lifespan. All products are Green Products and are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, ensuring quality, reliability, and environmentally responsible production

Product Overview

SC HR-400 is a high-performance, single-component heat-resistant coating developed for industries where surfaces must withstand prolonged exposure to heat, oxidation, and corrosive elements. Its unique formulation ensures superior film strengthchemical stability, and weathering resistance, providing both protective and aesthetic benefits.

This coating forms a smooth, glossy film that adheres strongly to metal substrates, offering long-term protection against rust, moisture, and heat-induced degradation. It is ideal for use on chimneys, furnaces, ovens, silencers, exhaust pipes, and other metallic surfaces exposed to high temperatures.

Key Features and Advantages

  • Excellent Heat Resistance: Performs efficiently at continuous temperatures up to 400°C, withstanding extreme thermal conditions without blistering, cracking, or peeling.
  • Superior Chemical Resistance: Offers excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, oils, and solvents, ensuring durability even in chemically aggressive environments.
  • Enhanced Corrosion Protection: Prevents rust formation and oxidation, prolonging the life of metallic components.
  • Smooth and Glossy Finish: Provides an attractive and professional appearance while maintaining strong adhesion.
  • Quick Drying and Easy Application: Can be applied by brush, roller, or spray with minimal surface preparation, ensuring faster turnaround time.
  • Long Service Life: Resistant to weathering, UV radiation, and thermal cycling, ensuring superior performance and long-lasting protection.

Applications

SC HR-400 is suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, including:

  • Furnaces, boilers, and ovens
  • Exhaust systems and silencers
  • Heat exchangers and chimneys
  • Machinery operating under high thermal conditions
  • Pipelines, drums, and other metal structures
  • Power plants, refineries, and manufacturing units

Whether used in process industriesautomotive plants, or thermal power stations, SC HR-400 ensures that all metal surfaces remain well-protected from both heat and corrosion.

Chemical and Corrosion Resistance

SC HR-400 is designed to perform exceptionally well in environments with acidic fumes, alkali splashes, and solvent exposure. Laboratory tests confirm its outstanding resistance against:

  • Acid (10% HCl) – Excellent
  • Alkali (10% NaOH) – Excellent
  • Solvents (Xylene) – Excellent
  • Industrial Oils and Grease – Excellent

In addition, its anti-corrosive formulation ensures that steel and metal surfaces remain free from rust even under high humidity and salt spray conditions.

Surface Preparation

Proper surface preparation is crucial to achieving optimal performance.

  • Remove all grease, oil, dirt, and contaminants using a suitable degreasing solvent.
  • For best results, blast clean the metal surface to a minimum of Sa 2½ (Swedish Standard SIS 05 5900).
  • In cases where blasting is not possible, use mechanical tools like wire brushing or manual cleaning to remove loose rust and scale (minimum St 2 standard).
  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust before applying the primer or coating.

Application Instructions

  1. Mix thoroughly before and during application.

  2. Apply by brush, roller, or conventional spray.

  3. Use SC HR Thinner for thinning (5–15% depending on method).

  4. Apply in multiple coats to achieve the recommended dry film thickness.

  5. Avoid application when the temperature is below 10°C, above 50°C, or when humidity exceeds 90%.

  6. Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with thinner.

Note: For optimum heat resistance, allow at least 7 days of curing before exposing to high temperatures.

Storage and Shelf Life

  • Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use.
  • Shelf life: 12 months in original unopened packaging under recommended conditions.

Safety and Handling

  • Ensure adequate ventilation during application.
  • Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin or eyes.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and masks.
  • Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for complete safety guidelines.
